About this handbook

Nova IAM is an Identity & Access Management platform. Nova manages identities – employees, external people and technical actors –, their accounts in the connected target systems and the entitlements they hold there. This covers the lifecycle of joiners, movers and leavers, access requests and approvals, recertifications and the logging of security-relevant changes.

This handbook describes how Nova goes about it – openly, for everyone to read.

Who it is written for

• Users – administrators, approvers and managers who work with Nova.
• Auditors – internal audit, information security and external auditors who want to trace how access is granted and removed again.
• Evaluators – anyone assessing Nova before adopting it.

What “planned” means

We only document what Nova does or what has been decided. Decided behaviour that no release ships yet is labelled:

• Whole pages carry a Planned notice at the top and the marker planned in the navigation.
• Individual statements on otherwise current pages are marked with planned.

As soon as a release ships the behaviour, we remove the label.

Languages

The handbook is published in German and English. Both versions have the same content; the language menu takes you to the same page in the other language.
